ISLAMABAD (Dunay News) - Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has departed for the United States today (Saturday) to participate in the upcoming meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

According to sources, the meetings will be held in Washington, D.C. from April 13 to 18, where the finance minister is scheduled to attend over 50 key sessions and bilateral meetings.

During the visit, Aurangzeb will meet senior leadership of the IMF and World Bank, along with global financial leaders and policymakers. He is also expected to participate in Pakistan-related discussions at Harvard University in Boston.

The finance minister will hold meetings with representatives of international financial institutions, major corporations, and US officials. Talks are also planned with trade representative Jamieson Greer, as well as officials from China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and United Kingdom.

Aurangzeb will represent Pakistan at G-24 and climate finance forums, while also presenting the digital system of the Benazir Income Support Programme during World Bank sessions. Investment forums will highlight Pakistan’s economic potential.

A special event on Roshan Digital Accounts is also scheduled in Washington. Additionally, meetings with global rating agencies such as Fitch Ratings, Moody’s, and Standard & Poor’s are planned.

Furthermore, the finance minister will address think tanks including the Atlantic Council and engage with members of the US-Pakistan Business Council and overseas Pakistanis.

The visit is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening Pakistan’s economic diplomacy and enhancing global partnerships.
