World Bank President Ajay Banga will visit Khushab on Feb. 3, with heightened security as he tours his ancestral home and a historic gurdwara.
KHUSHAB (Dunya News) – World Bank President Ajay Pal Singh Banga is scheduled to visit Khushab on Feb. 3, with authorities completing comprehensive security arrangements ahead of what officials are calling a historic and significant tour.
Local administrations have placed all departments on high alert, while a special helipad has been established at Railway Ground to facilitate the World Bank chief’s helicopter landing.
Security personnel will maintain strict surveillance across city entry and exit points, designated routes and sensitive locations.
During the visit, Banga is expected to tour his parents’ ancestral home in Gali Sikhhan Wali and pay respects at the historic Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha located nearby. Renovation and restoration work at the ancestral house and adjoining gurdwara has reached its final stages.
Authorities have also taken special measures to preserve and restore the city’s historic buildings and heritage sites in their original condition.
Commissioner Dr. Jehanzaib Hussain Laber oversaw the completion of administrative and security preparations, while DPO Khushab Dr. Amara Shirazi reviewed multiple routes and deployment plans. Officials described the visit as an important milestone for the district.
