KARACHI (Dunya News) – The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has unveiled the latest figures for workers’ remittances, showing that overseas Pakistanis sent home $3.2 billion in July 2025.

According to the SBP, remittances grew by 7.4 percent compared to the same month last year – proving that the inflow of foreign currency is still going strong.

However, compared to June 2025, the remittances dropped by 6 per cent, showing a slight dip at the start of the new fiscal year.

Despite the monthly slip, the full financial year 2025 brought good news. Total remittances jumped by 26 percent, hitting an all-time high of $38.29 billion – crossing the $38 billion mark for the first time ever.

When it comes to where the money came from, Saudi Arabia once again led the pack, with Pakistani workers sending $823.7 million.

Workers' remittances increase to 34.9bn dollars in 11 months of FY25

The United Arab Emirates followed with $665.2 million, while the United Kingdom chipped in $450.4 million. From the United States, remittances stood at $269.6 million.

Experts say that these inflows continue to play a vital role in keeping Pakistan’s economy afloat, helping to bridge the current account gap and boost foreign reserves.
