Rates made uniform across Punjab at Rs 2,900 per maund
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab government on Friday announced the continuation of the government wheat release policy.
On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Price Control and Commodities Management Department will release more wheat from government warehouses. The government wheat release rates have been made uniform across the province and have been set at Rs 2,900 per maund.
The Secretary Price Control and Commodities Management Department issued a notification, the Punjab cabinet had initially allowed the release of 1.2 million metric tons of wheat from the warehouses.
On the other hand, DG Food Punjab Shoaib Jadoon said that the Food Department has sold 1.2 million metric tons of wheat so far.
