(Web Desk) - Miyazaki mangoes, originally from Japan and now grown in the hot climate of Karachi, have made a remarkable entrance in the city, fetching an astonishing price of Rs300,000 per kilogram.

While mango varieties like Chaunsa, Sindhri, Langra, Dasheri, and Anwar Rathore are common during Pakistan’s mango season, the arrival of Miyazaki mangoes signals a new trend in the country’s mango industry.

A local farmer explained the unique characteristics of Miyazaki mangoes, highlighting their vibrant red and purple colors, which distinguish them from traditional yellow mangoes.

In international markets, these premium mangoes are sold for prices ranging from $800 to $900 per kilogram, equivalent to Rs250,000 to Rs300,000 in Pakistan.

Initially introduced as a trial, the successful cultivation of Miyazaki mangoes in Karachi has opened doors for wider production across the country.

The farmer praised the fertile land of Karachi’s Malir area and expressed confidence in the future of Miyazaki mango cultivation in Pakistan, citing the region’s ability to produce abundant harvests.

As more farmers embrace the cultivation of Miyazaki mangoes, consumers can expect to see these unique and high-priced mangoes become a staple in Pakistan’s mango season, offering a luxurious and exotic option alongside the traditional varieties.
