Inflation increases by 3.46pc
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Inflation increased by 3.46 percent during one month as prices of rice wheat, sugar, meat and pulses moved upward.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Tuesday released monthly inflation data.
The overall rate of inflation reached 28.31 per cent. According to the data released, the rate of inflation in urban areas increased by 3.57 per cent and the rate of inflation in rural areas by 3.30 per cent.
According to the PBS, the price of cigarettes increased by 123.46 per cent and the price of flour by 102.43 percent, tea by 97.26 per cent, rice by 68.87 per cent and wheat by 66.58%.
The prices of potatoes increased by 60.66 per cent, chicken by 58.13 per cent and sugar by 56.45 per cent in one year.
