ECC approves Rs1.6bn to repair flood-devastated roads

Only Rs50 million have been allocated for poverty alleviation division

 ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Finance Minister Ishaq Dar presided over the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting, and an approval was given for a supplementary grant of 100 million rupees for the construction of roads from Dalbandin to Ziarat.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the meeting approved a grant of 1.6 billion rupees for the construction of roads affected by floods, a supplementary grant of 17.2 million rupees for the Prime Minister's Inspection Commission, and a technical grant of 922 million rupees for the Ministry of Energy.

As per the Ministry of Finance, in the ECC meeting, a subsidy amount of 5 billion 570 million rupees was approved for urea fertilizer, the federal government will bear the burden of this subsidy. One billion rupees was approved for achieving sustainable development goals, 50 million rupees for poverty alleviation division, and 550 million rupees was awarded to the Ministry of Information.
