The commercial deal for purchasing Russian oil is happening through PSO
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After remaining in doldrums for long, the first shipment of Russian oil is all set to arrive Pakistan at May 24. The addition, if sustained, may slightly ease the energy woes of the country.
According to sources in the petroleum division, the first test cargo has been ordered from Russia which will arrive in Pakistan by May 24th. However, it is premature to say anything about the cost of this shipment.
It should be noted that the commercial deal for purchasing oil from Russia is happening through Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
A few days ago, the Minister of Petroleum, Musadiq Malik, had said that all deals with Russia have been finalized and we will soon place our first order. We will try to get the first shipment here as soon as possible, he added.
Meanwhile, US authorities speculated to be a hurdle in the import have said that the deal is the sovereign matter of Pakistan.
