Government goes with cautious borrowing

The government seems cautious while borrowing from banking sector during the current fiscal year.

The government has borrowed 55 percent less as compared with last year’s borrowing from banks until July 30 this year.According to the State Bank, the government took loans of Rs 21 billion from scheduled banks until July 30 and returned Rs 6 billion to the State Bank.The overall government debt volume paused at RS 15 billion.The government borrowed Rs 34 billion during the same period last year. So the government held its debt volume Rs 19 billion below than that of previous year’s.
