Pakistan pays back more than $3.5 billion foreign loans in Q1

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has repaid foreign loans of $3.593 billion during the first quarter of the current financial year.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the repayment of loans is a major burden on the national economy for which various steps are being taken.

It should be noted that during the financial year, Pakistan has repaid past loans of $14.578 billion. Between July and September 2020, Pakistan returned $ 2.934 billion in principal and $659 million in interest on various foreign loans.

According to the report, in the last financial year, Pakistan paid back loans worth $11.345 billion in principal and $ 3.233billion in interest.
