The ordinary consumers owe Rs 127 billion to Pepco, federal and provincial governments Rs 83 billion and KESC Rs 58 billion. On the other hand, Pepco has to pay Rs 288 billion to IPPs and power generation companies.If Hebco, Kepco are paid their dues, over 6 thousand additional megawatts could be generated. Lack of water resources is another factor behind the less than needed electricity production.
