Power tariff likely increase by Rs1.8

NEPRA will address the requests of companies on March 13.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The government is likely to increase electricity price by Rs1.8 per unit.
According to the proposed summary, the power producing companies requesting to increase power tariff adjustment for more than Rs.201 from July to December last year.
The documents further revealed that Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) and Gujranwala Electric Supply Company (GESCO) have requested for adjustment of more than 25 billion, 34 billion and 15 billion rupees respectively.
Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO), Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESCO), Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SECO) from July to December and Tribal Areas Electric Supply Company have demanded for adjustment of more than 5 billion, 8 billion, 5 billion and 0.98 billion rupees respectively.
