Last date for filing income tax returns today
The tax returns will be received electronically till 12 midnight.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News/Web Desk) – Today (Monday, December 17) is the last day for filing the income tax returns, the original deadline - December 15 - was extended for its falling on a non-working day.
According to FBR statement, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) will remain open till close of office hours in this connection, however, the returns can also be filed electronically till 12 midnight.
Earlier, several requests had also been received with regard to a longer extension in the last date of filing of returns, which were not considered.
However, since the previous stipulation fell on an off day, as per General Clauses Act, the closing date for filing of income tax returns was automatically extended to next working day i.e. Monday (17th of December).
