Senate body opposes incentives given to salaried class
Committee proposed increase in tax rate to 25% from 15% for salary class earning above Rs4.8m
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senate Standing Committee on Finance on Tuesday opposed the income tax relief given to salary class.
The committee in its meeting held today proposed increase in tax rate to 25% from 15% for salary class earning above Rs4.8 million.
It also proposed increase in tax rate to 15percent from 10percent on salary slab of Rs2.4 to 4.8 million.
The Senate body also proposed increase in tax rate to 10pc from 5pc on salary slab of Rs1.2 to 2.4 million.
The meeting proposed tax rate of Rs 2000 on salary slab of Rs800,000 to Rs1.2 million, while tax rate of Rs 1000 on salary slab of Rs400,000 to 800,000.
