OGDC makes new discovery of oil, gas reserves

Oil production from the discovery amounts to 360 barrels per day.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) has discovered new gas and oil reserves in Kohat District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Thursday.

“The structure of Dhok Hussain well # 01 was drilled and tested using OGDCL’s in house expertise. The well was drilled down to the depth of 5014 meters,” the company said, adding “The well was tested 15.40 MMSCFD of gas and 360 barrels per day of condensate through 32/64 choke at wellhead flowing pressure of 2870 Psi from Lumshiwal and Hangu formations.”

The discovery is a result of aggressive exploration strategy adopted by the company. It has opened new avenues and would add to the hydrocarbon reserves base of OGDCL and of the country.
