Richard Morin appointed PSX CEO

Morin is the first foreign national in the history of Pakistan Stock Exchange
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Canadian Richard Morin has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in a development that surfaced on Monday.
Morin is the first foreign national in the history of Pakistan Stock Exchange to lead the national enterprise.
Morin’s name was pitched by the board of director of PSX for the appointment. The foreign CEO has expertise in stocks markets, capital markets and retrieval of revenue.
Brokers are hopeful that the fresh CEO would help add to the image of Pakistan Stock Exchange and investment would get a boost.
Earlier this year, Islamabad stock exchange, Karachi stock exchange and Lahore stock exchange were consolidated to become one entity, Pakistan Stock Exchange.
Last week it was reported that Qatar stock exchange is ranked the worst of all the markets which lost some 22 percent value of its shares and Pakistan came second with 14 percent loss.
Contrary to 2017, PSX had regained trust of the investors in 2016 by giving them over 50 percent profits.
In the current year, 100 index crossed the benchmark 5,876 points on May 24th however, political uncertainty and strict measures taken by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan added to break the bullish trends.
