FY 2017-18: Revenue shortfall augments to Rs27 bn

LAHORE (Dunya News)- The revenue shortfall of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has augmented to Rs27 bn in first two months of ongoing fiscal year, reported Roznama Dunya on Wednesday.

In previous month only, shortfall surged by Rs12 bn.

A senior official of revenue watchdog, on condition of anonymity, told our correspondent that FBR had garnered Rs393 bn in first two months of FY 2017-18. Revenue collection stood at Rs208 bn and Rs185 bn for the months of August and July respectively.

As per details available, figures for July were Rs15 bn less than the set target whereas Rs12 bn for month of August.

Concerned by the unsatisfactory performance, FBR Chairman Tariq Pasha summoned a meeting and instructed commissioners to fill the soaring gap between targets set and achieved at earliest.
