Analysts were expecting the bank to maintain six percent interest rate

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Saturday has reduced interest rate by 0.25 percent in the last monetary policy that was announced today for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16.

According to a survey done by Dunya News, 12 out of 15 experts said that the bank would not change the interest rate while three were of the opinion that the supreme bank would cut the rate by 0.2 percent.

Analysts said that given the increased crude prices in international market, hiked interest rate would lead to inflation even before the month of Ramazan.
