HONG KONG (AFP) - Shares fell at the beginning of trade in Hong Kong and Shanghai on Friday, extending the previous day s losses following a weak lead from New York and Europe.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong slipped 0.36 percent, or 71.97 points, to 19,843.49.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.26 percent, or 7.40 points, to 2,828.46, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, fell 0.33 percent, or 5.84 points, to 1,784.19.
