Tax target for Excise Region C has been raised to Rs 6 billion from Rs 5 billion.

LAHORE (Web Desk) – The government has directed the Excise and Taxation Department to raise the tax target to Rs 23 Billion for the year 2014-15 against the property tax, professional tax, car registration and token tax, Dunya News reported.

The excise officers are worried about the new goal as the target for the previous year was Rs 21 billion, which was later reduced to 18.5 billion rupees.

According to the sources, the tax target for all the excise departments has been increased. Tax target for Excise Region C has been raised to 6 billion rupees from 5 billion rupees. On the other hand, the taxes imposed by the federal government are also challenging for the excise officials, as the income is declining each day.

During the financial year 2012-13, Rs 1 billion was collected as life time duty on 1000 CC vehicles.

Tax officials have already launched a tax collection campaign to meet the new targets.
