LCCI Monday said LESCO CE did not honor his commitment on unscheduled power outages.

LAHORE (Online): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday took a strong exception to the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) Chief Executive for his failure to honor his commitment on power outages and urged the government to take note of the situation.

In a statement issued here, the LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar said that the LESCO Chief Executive had made a commitment of 10-hour load-shedding during his visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on June 20 last but in the past 2-3 days all previous records of power outages were broken him.

The LCCI President urged the Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to look more deeply into the LESCO affairs and send home all the incompetent and corrupt officers.

Farooq Iftikhar said that if LESCO Chief was unsure about the availability of required electricity it would have been better for him to avoid making commitment at the platform of the most Premier Chamber of Commerce of the country.

The LCCI President said that a number of industrialists rescheduled working hours of their respective industrial units after the promise of LESCO Chief but they were unaware of the fact that power situation would soon return to old days.

Farooq Iftikhar said that electricity is major raw material for a number of industries and any unscheduled power cut destroys the entire process but it seemed that those who are sitting at the helm at LESCO have little care about the trade and industry.
