APBF demands incentives for oversees Pakistanis
All Pakistan Business Forum says oversees Pakistani should be provided with incentives for uplift.
LAHORE (Online): All Pakistan Business Forum (APBF) demanded the government that oversees Pakistani should be provided with utmost incentives to boost investment in the country.
Chairman APBF, Syed Nabeel Hashmi said, “If government assists overseas Pakistanis and provides them incentives, they can play a pivotal role in boosting Pakistan’s economy through their remittances and investments for the socio-economic prosperity”.
He remarked that oversees Pakistanis can invest in agriculture, transportation, telecom and energy sectors which have huge potential.
The government has badly failed to attract foreign investment because the persisting process of approval of projects discourages the investors, he added.
Syed Nabeel Hashmi asked the bureaucracy to mould simple procedures by revisiting the existing processes so that the investors could be facilitated.
While talking on the occasion, Kamran Khan, President of APBF UK Chapter claimed that overseas Pakistanis bring $14 billion through bank transactions and 28 billion through Hawala (money transferred through a network of brokers) every year.
Kamran khan informed that APBF’s international chapter would be inaugurated next month in the United Kingdom followed by the UAE.
