PASDEC intends to sale over 40000 tons of stock of finest quality marble blocks.
This was expressed by CEO PASDEC Mr. Ihsanullah Khan in a briefing session to local stakeholders arranged by All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA).He said that PASDEC has also received offers from certain foreign buyers however preference is being given to local buyers since they may not have to face adverse competition instead, the local industry develops to a level where it is able to compete in foreign markets.Marble industries should organize themselves on modern lines and improve their quality, price and efficiency. PASDEC shall consider establishing square slabs display centers in local markets for promotion of this new product, he added.Earlier Chairman APMIA Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Jogezai expressed his gratitude for CEO PASDEC on accepting the invitation on such a short notice and said that most of stakeholders are not aware about PASDEC achievements and its efforts in development of the sector. He hoped the session will provide them this information and prove to be productive for the local stakeholders.Directors BoD PASDEC, Mr. Shahid-ur-Rehman and Mr. Farrukh Munir and Ex-Chairman APMIA, Mr. Saleem Mughal also highlighted PASDEC achievements in Marble and Granite sector development. They urged the stakeholders to avail the maximum from this opportunity and buy local dimensional stone for processing.The marble blocks have been extracted from different quarry projects of PASDEC through state of the art machinery.
