Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved import of 400,000 tonnes urea to fulfill the demand this season. The ECC of the Federal Cabinet which met in Islamabad on Tuesday under chairmanship of Federal Minister Naveed Qamar, also approved withdrawal of 35 percent Regulatory Duty on wheat exports. The equality commission was of the view that the governments negotiations with the associations were promoting cartels. The ministry of trade briefed the meeting about establishment of Reconstruction Opportunity Zones (ROZs) in tribal areas with the help of the United States. The ministry told the ECC that American textile lobby was opposing the inclusion of textile products in the ROZs. The committee was told that the US congress would approve ROZs bill by the end of this year. The ECC also approved the additional supply of gas to the IPP in Sukkur.
