Javed Afridi, Darren Sammy call on PM Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi and captain Darren Sammy called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

Team’s head coach Mohammad Akram and batting mentor Hashim Amla were also present in the sitting. Imran Khan congratulated Darren Sammy on getting Pakistan’s honorary citizenship.

The premier conversed with the Saint Lucia-born cricketer and said he is now our citizen also while maintaining that his role in restoration of international cricket in Pakistan will always be remembered.

Imran Khan said Javed Afridi has always highlighted Darren Sammy’s services for cricket in Pakistan and both of them have done a lot for the sport here. He also welcomed Hashim Amla to Pakistan.

The premier expressed pleasure that the entire Pakistan Super League (PSL) is being played in Pakistan. Stadiums are housefull during the event which is a positive message to the world.

Javed Afridi later took to Twitter and congratulated Darren Sammy on being an honorary citizen of Pakistan. During meeting, Imran Khan gave him special immunity for taxes, he wrote while adding that Pakistan is first ever tax haven country for the West Indian now.
