Following her announcement, Turkish media reshared a video from an October 2025 meeting in Egypt, in which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan can be seen advising Meloni to quit smoking.
Erdogan is widely known for his strict stance against smoking and has long encouraged both the public and prominent figures to quit the habit.
Meloni’s latest statement has also gained significant attention on Turkish social media.
