Locals in Kolkata city of eastern Indias West Bengal state created the countrys largest graffiti wall and successfully listed their attempt in Limca Book of Records.Initiated by an interior infrastructure manufacturer Green Ply, the city dwellers gathered in large numbers to establish a single frame of 4100 square feet graffiti wall.Vice-President Marketing at Greenply Industries Limited, Atul Dixit, told mediapersons that the enthusiasts were asked to write about one peculiar and interesting fact that people did not wish to change in the city.We wanted to involve all the people living in Kolkata by asking what is the one thing that they wished to always remain with Kolkata. Few wanted a gossip corners offering hot tea to remain with the city and few wished the culture of this city to never change. We think that the one thing that this city will always have is the spirit of the Kolkata residents. We will record their wishes on this graffiti wall and will attempt to get ourselves listed in the Limca Book of Records, said Dixit. The locals turned out in large numbers to participate in the event and wrote their wishes on the graffiti wall.I want Kolkata to be a green and clean city so that the pollution and garbage is out of our city and we get to live in a clean environment, said a local, Lata Aggarwal.Earlier, Indias other metropolitan cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore too had participated in similar graffiti painting events.
