Islamic State claims responsibility for attack in eastern Congo
CAIRO (Reuters) - Islamic State on Friday claimed responsibility for an attack in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo's North Kivu province, the group said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The attack, which took place on Wednesday in the village of Mayikengo in Lubero territory, left at least 42 people dead according to two officials from the local administration.
