Grave in fact not in Pakistan but at a cemetery in India's Hyderabad city

LAHORE (Web Desk) - Indian media propaganda against Pakistan has been exposed once again as it comes under intense criticism for sharing a story of a locked grave while falsely linking it to Pakistan with the issue of rape and necrophilia.

According to the details, an image of a padlocked grave had gone viral on social media last week. The image of the locked grave was picked up by numerous Indian media outlets who reported the story, claiming that parents in Pakistan were forced to lock the graves of their dead daughters to prevent rape.

However, soon after the story went viral, Alt News — an independent fact-checking website — busted the misreporting and ran a fact check on the viral image following which it found that the grave was, in fact, not from Pakistan but from a cemetery in India’s Hyderabad city.

Furthermore, the mosque’s Muazzin Muqtar also explained to Alt News that the grille was put over the graves by the families to prevent others from burying any bodies further. The padlock had nothing to do with necrophilia in Pakistan.

Needless to say, Indian media’s journalistic integrity has come into question as social media slams India for using media as a tool to spread propaganda against Pakistan.

Indian media propaganda against Pakistan is a phenomenon that has been prevalent for decades. The propaganda aims to demonize Pakistan and create a negative perception of the country among the Indian public and the international community with instances of misleading news, doctored images, and fake videos being shared widely in Indian media.

The propaganda often portrays Pakistan as a sponsor of terrorism and a threat to regional peace, while ignoring or downplaying India’s own human rights violations, political unrest, and extremist violence.

The prevalence of propaganda against Pakistan remains a cause for concern. The impact of this propaganda on the bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan has been detrimental, with mistrust and hostility prevailing between the two countries.

It is important for Indian media outlets to uphold journalistic ethics and principles, and to report on Pakistan objectively and truthfully. This can help build trust and cooperation between the two countries and contribute to regional peace and stability.
