Gautam Gambhir caught using duplicate for election campaign
The cricketer was seen sitting in his air conditioned vehicle during an election campaign
(Web Desk) - Gautam Gambhir the cricketer-turned-politician, who inspired by Modi’s vision joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest the elections from Delhi, was caught using a body double for his election campaign.
According to media reports, the cricketer was seen sitting comfortably in his air conditioned vehicle while his look alike was seen waving and cheering on the voters in the scorching heat of the summer. He was severely criticized for asking his voters to come out in the summer heat, while he himself wasn’t up for a little sweat.

As per media reports, when the duplicate (Gaurav Arora), who is Gambhir’s childhood friend was questioned by the reporters for standing in place of the cricketer, he simply stated that anyone can stand on a vehicle during a campaign and even wear garlands while doing so.

This comes a day after Gambhir got embroiled in a controversy of allegedly using abusive language against the opposing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Gaurav Aurora further clarified, that he was part of Gautam’s campaign from day one and the reason why he was standing on the car and Gambhir sitting inside the car was because the cricketer wasn’t feeling well.
‘During the roadshow on Friday, Gautam Gambhir felt giddy and unwell and moved inside the car. It is clear even in the photos that he is sitting on the front seat. Had there been a lookalike, Gautam would not be in the car. And besides me, everyone on top of the vehicle was waving and thanking our supporters. What is wrong with that?’ he added.
