(Web Desk) - Afghan Taliban Monday night disclosed to the world, pictures of the secret hideout inhabited by the Taliban leader Mullah Omar.

According to details disclosed Mullah Omar spent the last 5 years of his life in a simple small mud brick house.

Zabiullah the Spokesperson for Taliban further told that Mullah Omar dwelled in Afghanistan in this very hideout from 2013 till he breathed his last, spending his afternoons in the rose covered courtyard.

On March 10, a Dutch journalist Bette Dam working for a US based think tank Zomia Centre, came out with an exposé, that told the world that Mullah Omar for many years lived quite near an American military base camp in Afghanistan.

Bette Dam, in her book ‘Searching for an enemy,  unveiled the whereabouts of Mullah Omar, who by her account was living 3 miles away from a key US military camp, in his native province Zabul, living an inconspicuous life, engrossed in writing his memoirs, He was so discreet about his dwelling that he seldom met his family.

This Dutch journalist spent 5 years to gather evidence that could not be opposed. She also interviewed Jabbar Omari, who was Mullah Omar’s security guard who lived with him after the end of the Taliban government.

The book revealed that Mullah Omar listened to BBC Pashto service every evening, chose to remain quiet and decided against sending out any message even after hearing the news of Usama bin Laden’s death.

Dam further writes that US government after 9/11 laid head money worth $10 million for Mullah Omar, despite him hiding out in a compound in Afghanistan’s Qalat province. The family hosting the Taliban leader was also kept in dark about who the mysterious guest was.

On the other hand, the statement issued by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has negated all such claims that Mullah Omar resided in Afghanistan, indicating that he lived and died in Pakistan.

‘We have enough evidence that suggest Mullah Omar lived and died in Pakistan’.
