KARNATAKA (Dunya News) – A professor at an Indian college on Sunday was forced to kneel and apologise to activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), for a Facebook post that allegedly criticised the country’s government for creating war hysteria following the Indian Air Force strike in Pakistan’s Balakot.
According to Indian media reports, Professor Sandeep Wathar also allegedly praised Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The ABVP activists and BJP workers have also demanded the suspension of Sandeep Wathar, professor at Vachana Pitamaha Dr P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology. The Facebook posts have since been deleted.
The professor was made to kneel and apologise. “I won’t repeat it in future, forgive me for my Facebook post,” he is heard saying in a viral video.
The institution is run by Bijapur Lingayat Development Education Society, which is owned by Congress leader and Karnataka minister MB Patil.
