NEW DELHI (Web Desk) - India is building more than 14,000 bunkers suitable for families living along its border with Pakistan in Indian-occupied Kashmir, as the nation prepares for war amid rising tensions between the nuclear-arch rivals, .
According to the British tabloid Express, tensions between the old arch enemies reached boiling point this week when India violated Pakistan’s airspace. Bunkers worth £45million are now being quickly constructed on the border with Pakistan in Indian-occupied Kashmir, hoping to keep them safe near their homes instead of evacuating them due to artillery firing.
Indian government had approved the construction of 14,460 bunkers in December 2017 at a cost of £45million for border residents along the LoC. While 7,298 bunkers were sanctioned for Rajouri and Poonch districts along the LoC, 7,162 were meant for the residents living along the IB, Samba and Kathua districts.
