16 die in India's bridge collapse

(Web Desk) - A portion of an under construction flyover, near the railway station in India’s Varanasi, collapsed today killing at least 16 persons while more were feared trapped under the debris, officials said.

Two pillars of the under construction flyover collapsed in Varanasi s Cantt area, bringing a huge slab of concrete down, crushing cars and a local bus under it.

Many of those trapped are reported to be labourers who were working on the flyover.
