Summary Actions by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces are constitutional, court said.

HARARE (AFP) - A Zimbabwe High Court ruled on Saturday that the military takeover that led to Robert Mugabe’s ousting was legal, raising immediate concerns about judicial independence under the country’s new administration.

"Actions by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces to stop the usurping of power by those close to former president Robert Mugabe are constitutional," the court said according the state-run ZBC media.
