NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) vice-chairman Captain Shaheen Butt has said that the Punjab government has formulated law to ensure the rights and safety of women and is also taking further measures in this regard.
While addressing a community reception in New York, Shaheen Butt asserted that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is keen to resolve the issues of overseas Pakistanis and matters regarding women rights.
“The work and effort by Punjab government for the overseas Pakistanis and women is exemplary,” he affirmed.
The reception was organized by prominent Pakistani businessman in US Hameed Mughal and Khawaja Amjad.
The programme began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Qari Sadaqat.
New York’s renowned social personality Agha Zulfiqar lauded the services of Captain Shaheen Butt for the commission.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz USA President Rohail Dar said that their government has always taken interest in the matters of overseas Pakistanis.
Captain Shaheen Butt praised Captain Mubeen Butt,who embraced martyrdom while fighting terror elements, and said that he has played a key role in the development of the commission.
