WEB DESK (Dunya News) – Malaysian authorities on Tuesday confirmed that the seven militants that were arrested last month were actually planning an attack on “Arab royalties” visiting Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysian police made these arrests just days before Saudi King’s visit to Malaysia on February 26.

Inspector General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed to media that the attackers were planning to attack Arab royalties during their visit to Kuala Lumpur and that the police got them in the nick of time.

It is worth mentioning that Malaysian authorities on Sunday revealed that one Malaysian and six foreigners that included one Indonesian, four Yemenis and one East Asian were arrested February 21 and 26.

The country has been on high alert since terrorists linked to Islamic State launched multiple assaults in the neighbouring country’s capital Jakarta in January 2016.
