Summary Promise to withdraw from the partnership was made by Donald Trump during his presidential campaign

WEB DESK (Dunya News) - The newly elected US president while signing the executive order has formally abandoned the United States from the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.

It is pertinent to mention that the promise to withdraw from the partnership was made by Donald Trump during his presidential campaign.

In addition, Trump also signed a directive that would automatically ban US aid or federal funding for any international non-governmental organizations that perform abortions abroad.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was negotiated by former President Barack Obama s administration however it didn’t get approval from the Congress.

The TTP accord was signed by 12 countries back in 2015, however the agreement had not yet been put into place and US withdrawal could be the last nail in the coffin for the deal.
