NEW DELHI (Dunya News) – Modi government and Indian military is pushing to avoid and suppress any questions over false claim of carrying out surgical strike in Pakistan as opposition has demanded evidence.
A standing committee of the parliament on defence was briefed on Friday by a panel of the military after much reluctance initially only to succumb to the pressure eventually.
Major general (r) of Indian army and panel chief, BC Khanduri exchanged hot words with a senior member of Congress party, Madhusudan Mistry and snubbed him during the briefing as he insisted to get some answers from the military.
The meeting was briefed by vice chief of the army staff, lieutenant general Bipin Rawat on the surgical strike that India claimed to have carried out in Pakistan administered Kashmir valley on September 29 but was refuted by the Pakistan Army and foreign commentators who termed it an ill attempt to isolate Pakistan.
A participant reported to an Indian news channel after the half an house briefing was over that nothing new was disclosed by the army and everything was already in public knowledge.
The terror endorsing army of India which exercises government’s instruments like media blackout and unannounced curfew in Indian-held Kashmir to minimise protests and dissent from the oppressive agenda claimed last month in an early morning press conference that terror launch pads were decimated troops in a late night covert operation after they crossed the Line of Control (LoC).
The attempt to halt growing acceptance of Pakistan’s stance on Occupied Kashmir in international media coverage and by foreign governments came after Nawaz Sharif’s speech in the General Assembly of United Nations in September.
It came also as a gross miscalculation of Indian government over Uri attack as Narendra Modi held Pakistan responsible for the attack on Brigade Headquarters on September 18, conveniently putting blinds on regarding the operations being carried out in Pakistan by civil and military leadership alike against terror elements using all the resources possible.
