Indian army shoots dead 11 youth in held Kashmir

SRINAGAR (Dunya News) - In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred eleven youth in Uri, Baramulla and Kupwara districts on Tuesday, reported Kashmir Media Service.

The youth were shot dead at Mahiya, Bijhama in Lachipura and in Nowgam Handwara area during crackdown operations following the so-called attack on Uri Army headquarters on Sunday. The occupation authorities, quite often arrest Kashmiri youth in different areas of Kashmir Valley, and after bringing them to border areas shoot them dead in fake encounters.

These killings have raised the death toll in the ongoing Kashmir violence to 116 with the curfew entering 75th day.

According to a British journal, atleast 50 arrests are being made in held Kashmir on daily basis.

Till now, more than 3500 Kashmiris have been taken into custody.

A Kashmiri student was expelled from Aligarh Muslim University for posting pro-Kashmir comments on Facebook.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK chapter held a protest demonstration outside the United Nations office in Islamabad against blatant human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

On the other hand, Kashmiris living in America have decided to hold a peaceful protest outside the United Nations building in New York on 26th September, the day when Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj is scheduled to address the General Assembly.
