Shawal moon not sighted in Saudi Arabia, Eid to be observed on Wednesday
No testimonies received in Arab states regarding sighting of moon
RIYADH (Web Desk) – Arab media on Monday reported that moon in Saudi Arabia that would have indicated the beginning of the Islamic month of Shawal was not sighted henceforth the religious festival of Eid-ul-Fitr shall be celebrated in the Kingdom and other Gulf states on Wednesday.
No testimonies were received regarding the sighting of moon in the Arab countries. Earlier, Saudi Ruet-e-Hilal committee appealed to its public to submit testimonies if any sightings of the moon were made.
Meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal committee in Pakistan shall take place on Tuesday under the leadership of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman. Astronomers and Meteorological department predicted that there were immense chances of the moon being sighted on July 5.
