Kashmir: Govt building siege continues, 5 Indian army officers dead

Summary Building under militants' control for over 24 hours; captain and 5 officers dead in fire exchange

LAHORE (Dunya News) – A government building in the city of Pampore in occupied Kashmir has been held by a group of militants for more than the past 24 hours, reported by Dunya News. The Indian armed forces in the region have tried to liberate the building but an exchange of fire between the belligerents has resulted in the death of 5 Indian army officers, including a captain and one civilian.

According to the Indian media, exchange of fire among the two parties continue as 11 members of the Central reserve police have also been reported to be injured in the incident. Whereas, Indian media has continued its usual practice of blaming Pakistan for yet another terrorism related incident in their country. Whether it be Pathankot or occupied Kashmir this series of setbacks for the Indian army has certainly exposed their vulnerabilities.
