Afghan officials says Taliban raised foreign troops, sanctions

(Reuters) - The presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan, United Nations sanctions and prisoners of war were among issues raised by the Taliban at the first official meeting with Afghan government representatives this week, Afghan officials said on Thursday.

Deputy foreign minister Hekmat Karzai, who attended the meeting in Pakistan, said reports that the two sides had agreed to end large-scale military attacks were not correct, Afghan media outlet TOLO News reported.
