Summary
Australian police questioned a man in Perth over throwing an egg at Australia's new Prime Minister Julia Gillard, media reported on Friday. The man tried to attack Gillard when she arrived at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's studios for a radio interview, but missed his target. The Prime Minister seemed to be smiling as she spoke to a woman wearing a raincoat who was apparently hit with the egg when the attacker missed Gillard. Australian Federal Police arrested a neatly-dressed man who carried a cup of coffee in one hand and an umbrella on the other one. Small groups targeting Gillard's asylum and environment policies also staged protests during her trip to Perth.
