Summary
David Cameron left his election rivals out on a limb last night as he won the final TV debate. The Tory leader stood firm in the live showdown just one week before Britain goes to the polls. But Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg were caught in the same comical pose at their lecterns at Birmingham University. Mr Clegg got 32 per cent support, with Mr Brown trailing in third on 25 per cent. Mr Cameron skewered Mr Clegg over his plan to let ONE MILLION illegal immigrants stay in Britain. The Lib Dem struggled to explain his proposal to let foreigners stay if they have evaded the law for ten years. And he was badly wounded in a two-pronged attack by his far more experienced opponents.
