Summary No facilities to protect the rights of disabled persons have been provided by the government.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM (Web Desk) – Three women on a local bus humiliated a mother of disabled twelve-year old Amal Krishna by calling the child as retard. Amal Krishna was not able to hold the supports tightly in the bus.
Shailaja Pillai tried to take seat for her son but the passengers insulted her by saying that they too have paid for tickets and Shailaja was just getting sympathies due to her son.
The bus conductor only argued and said that he could only help her if his son had a disability pas issued by KSRTC.
Despite of celebrating International Day for Persons with Disabilities, still no facilities have been provided to disabled persons by the government.
The mother also filed a complaint against the conductor of the KSRTC in Child Right Commission to aware people about the rights of disabled person.
