India's Home Minister P Chidambaram has said he takes full responsibility for the killing of 76 paramilitary troops in a Maoist ambush on Tuesday.Home Minister P Chidambaram has also offered to resign, however, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has rejected his offer. Chidambaram has written separate letters to PM Manmohan Singh and Congress Party leader Sonia Ghandi taking full responsibility of the Dantewada Naxal attack in which 76 paramilitary troops were killed.However, it is pertinent to mention that the Maoist insurgency - which began in the state of West Bengal in 1967 - has now spread to at least 20 of the country's 28 states.
