US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Congress that US $ 3.2 billion aid for Pakistan, sought by the Obama Administration for the year 2011, will support the countrys efforts to achieve economic development, combat extremism as well as help build a long-term relationship between the US and the Pakistani people. The chief American diplomat was advocating the importance of assisting frontline states, including Pakistan and Afghanistan, at a Congressional hearing, where she laid out objectives of the Obama Administrations request for State and Foreign Operations budget in the new fiscal year beginning October 1, 2010.
