France has accused US of trying to occupy Haiti on the pretext of rescue efforts.French co-operation minister Alain Joyandet, while talking to European Radio during a European Union meeting, said that US has sent around hundreds of thousands soldiers to Haiti, while the US military controls the Port-au-Prince airport.Referring to the forced return of a French aid plane carrying a field hospital from the damaged Haitian airport, the French minister alleged that US forces turned the aid plane back and added that same treatment has been meting out to other countries aid planes. Mr Joyandet said he hopes things will be clarified concerning the role of the United States.
