MIAMI (AP) A tropical depression is moving northwestward in the Pacific on a path that could take it near Mexico.
The depression s maximum sustained winds early Friday are near 35 mph (55 kph) and the U.S. National Hurricane Center says it could strengthen to a tropical storm later in the day.
The depression is centered about 350 miles (560 kilometers) southwest of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and is moving near 7 mph (11 kph).
